Format only VGA! :-(

I also had the problems with the programm crashing while deleting clips. Saving the project helped a few times. I find it more annoying, that you can only work in 4:3 format, and only VGA, and not at all in 16:9 Format. Why? This limitates the possibilities of using the animation in a "broadcasting world" without black borders or stratching the whole animation. Please change that! Because the drawing tools are quite cool and it is fun working with them and the onion skin.

No Sound interface???

I am waiting for so long, I don’t understand why this APP has sound interface in IPAD and doesn’t have for MAC, am I doing something wrong here?

Misleading

The description and pictures in the Mac App Store make it seem like this app is really fun and simple to use. Its not! There are no instructions and no help at all. Clicking on help in the menu bar just gets you to the developers website where they try to sell you the iPad and iPhone versions.I have no idea how to start making a project. I began a simple stick figure animation and wanted to make the next frame so I could see how it all works. There is no indication anywhere on how to add the next frame. So basically I have a plain static drawing of a stick figure that doesnt move. I couldve done that with my word processor. Youd think there would be some sort of a tutorial included. Even something very basic but nope! This app is the equivilent of putting a pad of paper on the table in front of someone and saying "Now make a movie!" and then walking away. To the developers I say thanks for nothing. Enjoy my money. And to everyone else I say go ahead and waste your money on this app if you want to, but I dont recommend this app at all.

Cintique doesnt work well on this application!

Over all the design of this application needs some work but it works. However what is the point of making a drawing app where you cant use your cintique to draw a perfect circle. It lags this app has the potential of becoming the next Flipbook program one day.

Amazing!

This is my new fav. animation application, it runs amazing and i have been able to complete great animations with it!!! Highly Recommend this app!

Well… It works

Yes, it’s free, I enjoy that, and I don’t think you need to download anything on your computer unlike the mobile version, but I can’t stand how it is very laggy and glitchy, but hey, it’s probably my computer and it doesn’t hurt to try. As for there being no tutorials or helpful tips what-so-ever, that is true, but that is where YouTube comes in. Search up a tutorial, there’s probably at least 1 or 2 really good ones that will teach you well, and if your an animation pro, I think this is the app for you.

cannot even open properly after upgrades

please fix it ASAP thanks

Bugs

This application has nice brushes and I really like to work with it but it has lots of bugs on mac like picking a color and it also doesnt export single frame. hope they fix it.

The app crashes after Maverics install!

Please do something!

Should Get Better

Being the first time for the MAC I know this isnt the final version. I love this app for the iPad and seeing it here, well, I had to just grab it quick! At the moment the drawing aspect can be glitchy. I illustrate pretty fast so I like to see my sketches moving along. Small learning curve for a few things but I got the hand of it pretty fast. Once these updates start rollin Ill give it a higher rating for sure! For now its a great start and worth every penny! Thanks guys!

I really like this app!

I got this app for like 2 days, and then it crashed. i think it should have an update soon. Beside, this app is totally koolllll! XD XD XD

Love it!

I find this app very inviting as I wouldnt consider myself a artist. The layout is fun to use and after fooling around with it for a bit, I was able to create a pretty nice animated ecard. I would definitely recommend it.

Has potential, but...

Crashes often, crashed the first time in 10 minutes or less and I only had 10 frames with a circle on each… Wait and see if its patched beyond version 1.0 before you buy.

good on iPad, bad on iPhone and Mac

Crashes within a few minutes of drawing. Just simple lines - too expensive to have problems like this. Wait for improvements, and updates, before Buying for the Mac. I have written to the developer via email and am waiting for a reply. IF they give me an answer within a day or two, I will refine my bad feeling about this app only if they fix the problems. The only device it really works well on is the iPad3. Definately NOT ready for desktop use, there are not even instructions for use on the Macs.

its ok...

but when i try to moove the mouse it moved to the side so I cant use it.

Drawing Tools are so-so

The Drawing Tools are not very responsive, especially since this is supposed to be used with a tablet. I might be a little spoiled by years of Photoshop, however. It just seemed like everything I tried to draw was clunky within the app.

Unable to Download

Animation Desk™ failed to download Use the Purchases page to try again. I have tried downloading it several times and, although I have never had any trouble downloading anything else from the App Store, it has proven to be impossible to download this one. Added Later: Two days later, and I still havent been able to install this thing. For those of you who are rating my review as being "unhelpful", Im sure you wouldnt feel that way if you had paid for something that wouldnt even install. What other criteria would I use to rate an app that doesnt install? Since it doesnt install, I have no way of knowing whether it would like it or not. I have purchased dozens of apps from the App Store and this is the only one that refused to install, and it still refuses to install. I have put in a help request with the publisher but have not heard back from anyone yet. Added 15 days after purchase: This was a waste of money. The thing still wont install and the developer refuses to respond to requests for help. If it wont install, it has failed the first test of whether or not it works. Im glad that its working for some of you but its not working for me and it seems that support is non-existent.

the save feature needs to save itself first

When I was using it, the program was functional and it was really cool to see my animation. It would be a lot helpful that instead of seeing the cursor "draw", the appropriate brush size would be shown rather than have the user make a guess. I managed to get two quick animations saved, 100 frames and the other 50. I notice it takes a bit of time to save the files. Then later when I opened both of my files again, I notice that each of my animation lost some frames. I made sure that I saved before exiting the program. Hm, not sure if its just a glitch on my end, but I would be wary of its ability to save properly. Dont pour your lifes work into this software, yet. It is only 1.0.

Worst app; terrible customer service!

I bought this because it was suppose to work with Mountain Lion. It doesnt! I cant find any audio input into the program and the self-help on their website doesnt address issues with Mountain Lion. I emailed customer and they dont respond. If I were you, and I wish I had, Id stay away from this program.

very poor instructions

The "user guide" that comes with this app is a series of video demos in which the ONLY audio is a cheesy muzak sound track. No actual verbal instruction AT ALL. The activity moves too quickly and its difficult to see exactly what is taking place. This feels like a fairly staightforward app but it really needs basic comprehensive instructions for new users. Otherwise its a lot of frustrating guesswork.
